CHEMRAZ® - ORINGS & SEALS

Greene, Tweed's Chemraz® has the broadest chemical resistance of any elastomeric material, combining the resilience and sealing force of an elastomer with chemical resistance approaching that of PTFE. Chemraz O-rings, quad-rings, gaskets and custom elastomeric shapes last longer and seal completely in harsh environments and a wide range of temperatures (-20°F to 615°F, -29°C to 324°C). Chemraz is the cost-effective solution to the most difficult sealing problems in many industries, particularly PetroChem & Power. Chemraz works to solve the most difficult sealing problems, ranging from those found in pump housings and reactors to those in mixers and valves.

Chemraz Compounds

Temperature Range

General Description

Typical Properties

555 10ºF to 600ºF
(-12ºC to 316ºC)
Chemraz 555 provides a significantly wider operational band and superior compression set resistance than any other broad range perfluoroelastomer on the market. With an upper temperature limit of 600ºF (316ºC), it is the elastomer of choice for the most demanding services found in the chemical process and refining industries.
505 -22ºF to 446ºF
(-30ºC to 230ºC)
A field proven universal compound having a broader range of chemical resistance than any other single compound on the market. Chemraz 505 is ideal for processes taking place in subzero temperatures as well as for use in multisubstance plants or in mixed media due to its broad chemical resistance.
615 0ºF to 615ºF
(-18ºC to 324ºC)
The highest temperature perfluoroelastomer on the market. Chemraz 615 can handle continuous operating temperatures up to 615ºF with outstanding resistance to fatal thermal related compression set.
605 0ºF to 500ºF
(-18ºC to 260ºC)
A high temperature compound with superior physical properties and chemical resistance comparable to Chemraz 505. This compound excels in demanding dynamic applications and exhibits unparalleled performance in high temperature steam and water. Chemraz 605: Recently received USP Class VI Certification
526 0ºF to 500ºF
(-18ºC to 260ºC)
This specialty black compound was formulated for incredible resistance to rapid gas decompression (also known as explosive decompression) damage common in high pressure gas services. Chemraz 526 is also used in monomer services where polymerization attacks and ruptures common elastomeric seals.
584/585 -22ºF to 428ºF
(-30ºC to 220ºC)
These specialty cream Chemraz compounds are formulated to withstand the most demanding chemical process applications. Chemraz 584 and 585 are the elastomers of choice for strong oxidation fluids and hot aqueous solutions.
514/517 -20ºF to 425ºF
(-29ºC to 218ºC)
The white industrial compounds are for applications where contamination from carbon black must be prevented.
