NOMEX� Type 410

NOMEX® Type 410 is part of the NOMEX® line of synthetic, flame-resistant papers and pasteboards from DuPont. It has high dielectric strength and mechanical toughness and is is widely used in electrical equipment applications. These materials are similar to nylon, but are more rigid and durable due to a synthetic aromatic polyamide polymer structure consisting of two components: short fibers, or floc, and microscopic filmy particles, or fibrids. Calendering, or densifying, binds the two components together to create an impermeable material that is also flexible and resilient.
